Desert Palace

Now that you have your first Pendant, the Pendant of Courage, you can go see Sahasrahla again, outside of the East Palace. From the East Palace exit, walk to the left, and jump off the ledges. After a few ledges, you will see where Sahasrahla is again. Go into the house and speak to him. He will tell you more about the legend of the Master Sword. He will also tell you that you are the hero and that you must find the 2 remaining pendants. He then will give you the Pegasus Shoes, which can be used for dashing attacks with the R button.

He also tells of an item that will aid you, at the east side of Lake Hylia. At the back of the pots near Sahasrahla, there is a crack in the wall. You can use bombs or make a dashing attack using your Pegasus Boots. Inside is some bombs and 100 rupees. Now leave the building. Go up the stairs at the north end of the building, walk to the left, down, to the right, then down to reach the entrance of the Eastern Palace area, where the statues are. Leave the area by going south, down the stairs, then  follow the dirt road on the left, between the large pillars. Walk down and across the river, over the bridge guarded by 3 enemies. Once across, follow the dirt road to the left, to get back to Kakariko Village. Follow the path all the way to the southern edge of Kakariko Village, where a few houses, and a library resides. You'll see a wooded ladder, leading to a building with a treasure chest game inside. Continue to the left of that, then go up and follow the path until you reach another wooden ladder, which should lead to the library. Inside the library, use your Pegasus shoes to charge into the bookshelf on the bottom left, the one with the green book ontop of it. That will send the book to the ground, in back of the bookshelf, where you can pick it up, the Book of Mudora.

Now that you have the Book of Mudora, you can head to Lake Hylia to retreive the item that Sahasrahla was talking about. From the library, go down, and to the right, and follow the dirt path. A little over half way to the East Palace, is a southern entrance into the Great Swamp, a thick grass area, with a few small lakes. The entrance is directly across from Link's house. Once in the Great Swamp, walk down a few screens to the south, until you reach a dirt area, off to the right. You will see the drastic change of terrain. Follow the dirt path to the right, following the southern shore of Lake Hylia. Continue along the path, and follow it up, along the east side of Lake Hylia. At the end of the path, you will reach a grassy area, with a cave at the top left of the screen, enter the cave. Inside, you will find a walkway, surrounded by a large pit. At the end of the walkway, bomb the crack in the wall, to reveal a room with a few fairies. Collect the fairies, then exit the cave. Now, back outside, bomb the crack in the wall to the left of the cave entranc, to reveal another cave entrance. Enter, follow the pathway into the next room, and open the chest inside to find the Ice Rod!

Now that you have the Ice Rod, you can head back to the Great Swamp, by following the path to the right, down, then far to the left along the south side of Lake Hylia. Once you get to the Great Swamp, continue to the left, and find the entrance to the Desert area. You'll see an average man sitting next to a sign along the path, who won't talk to you. Keep moving west, until you get into the desert from there. To the west of the man, there is a cave, near the desert, with a Fairy who will repair your damage. Now continue west into the Desert of Mystery.

Desert of Mystery

Once you're in the desert, continue your way to the west and then walk to the north to find a green platform, with stairs and a stone in the middle. Climb the stairs and stand in front of the stone. Retreive your Book of Mudola from your Item Menu and use it on the stone. Previously illegible, you can now read the inscription, asking you to make a wish to continue. Link will begin to make a wish, then press A again to see the 3 green shells shifting around. The wish will gain you entry to the stairs ahead, leading to the Desert Palace.

Desert Palace

The first room of the Palace, is a large sand room with some sand enemies. Continue forward until you reach a laser firing armos statue. Walk on the path to the left of the statue and follow that path up, until you reach a large enemy coming out of the sand. Defeat it with your sword, then proceed up and into the room ahead. In this room, defeat all the enemies, then walk to the pot at the top middle of the screen and toss it to reveal a switch. Step on the switch to reveal a chest with the Map inside. Now exit the room through the same door you entered. Walk to the left 1 screen and enter the door above. In this room, there is a laser firing armos with 4 torches. On the upper left torch is a key. Use your Pegasus Shoes to charge into the torch and knock the key off the torch. Theres also a tile, where you can telepathically speak with Sahasrahla. Once you have the key, leave the room. Now, walk 2 screens to the right, and down 1 screen to find a locked door on the right wall. Open the door to find another laser firing armos statue. Defeat all of the enemies in here to get the doors to open. You can stand behind the stone statues to not be seen by the laser firing armos. Once all the enemies are defeated, open the chest to get the Compass. Now continue through the upper door that was opened. This next room is a long hall with cannons on the walls shooting cannon balls. Quickly walk through, avoiding getting hit and make it to the other side, where the Big Key is located in the chest.

Now that you have the Big Key, leave this room by going down into the next room, then go left. From here, go up 1 screen, and left 2 screens, to where you got the first key. Go into the room on the left and you should see another laser firing armos, surrounded by some pots. Lift up the pot near the northwest corner of the room to find a switch. Step on the switch to open up the doors. Go through the door above and into the next room. In this room, there is a large chest, with the Power Glove inside, making you capable of carrying large stones.

Go back down 1 room and reactivate the same switch again to get the doors open. Now go right one room. Now go down and follow the hall down, and to the left, where you will see a door on the left. In this room is another laser firing armos statue, with 3 torches, and an exit to the Palace at the bottom. The torches will not light, so try the blocks. Push up the 3rd block from the left to open the door above. Inside that room are 2 fairies. You can use them to replenish your health, or catch them with your Bug Catching Net to store in a bottle. Now walk down to the previous room, then walk down to exit the palace. Now walk down the stairs and up, then to the right to find an entrance blocked by some light-green colored rocks. Lift them up with R to clear the entrance and enter the other part of the Desert Palace.

In this room, avoid the laser firing armos and move the 2nd to right block in the room to the left to make the door ahead open. In this next room, the tiles of the floor will start flying at you. Avoid the flying tiles and lift up the pot at the bottom left corner of the room, to retreive a key. Now take the key to the locked door at th top of the room, to go upstairs to the 2nd floor. Go down and cross the bridge into the next room. Defeat all the enemies in this next room to get the doors to open. Now, walk to the room on the right. In this room, there is 3 firing armos statues and some small enemies. Defeat all of the small enemies, then continue up the room. Lift the pot thats the 2nd to the right to reveal a key. Take the key up to the locked door at the top of the screen. The next room will have the tiles of the floor flying at you again. Quickly lift the pot in the upper right corner of the room to retreive another key, and use it on the locked door above. In the next room, break the jars to collect hearts, then defeat the red armored enemy by hitting it with your bow twice. Now, light the 4 torches on the left side of the room, using your Lamp. Once they are lit, the left wall will move back and extend the room. This will reveal the Boss door.

Lanmolas

As you enter the boss room, you will encounter 3 large sand worms, called Lanmolas. The Lanmolas will come out of the ground and send pieces of rock at you. To defeat them, strike at their heads with your sword. After several blows to each one, they will slowly be defeated. The last one left will send more pieces of rock at you, and will move a little faster. Target its head right before it comes out of the sand. Once the Lanmolas are defeated, a Heart Container will appear, and the Pendant of Power as well! 2 down, 1 to go.
