Between the Games

One day in the Temple of Time, a blue shaft of light appears around the Pedestal of Time. In the middle of the light is Link, the Hero of Time. He had just been transported back in time by the Ocarina of Time, now being a child again. As Link looks at the Master Sword one last time, his fairy companion Navi flies out of the window. She says goodbye and Link says "I will see you again, Navi". Link walks out of the Temple and goes to the Castle to see Princess Zelda. There, Impa meets him at the gate. "Hello Link." Impa says. "Come to see the Princess"? Link nods and Impa magically teleports (Sages can do that stuff) to Zelda’s garden. Zelda is surprised by Link’s arrival as she turns around. Link walks up to her and hugs her. He thanks her for saving him and gives her his three spells: Din’s Fire, Farore’s Wind, and Naryu’s Love, as a gift. Zelda accepts the gifts and gives Link something in return: the Ocarina of Time and a Hero’s Shield. "Its your size. You don’t have to carry around that Hylian Shield like a turtle anymore" she says. Link points at the shield and scratches his head. "It came from another country named Tre… Terma.. Treminia… Ohh I cant pronounce it." Zelda says. Link shakes Zelda’s hand and walks away. The next day Link goes to Lon Lon Ranch to see Malon and Epona. Epona immediately recognizes Link and goes up to him. "Why don’t you keep him, Hero?" Malon says. "You deserve him". Link nods and rides away to the Kokiri forest. On the way, some Gerudos knock Link down and steal his Hookshot and bow. "These will sell great overseas" one of the Gerudo thinks. A year passes and Link goes on one of his daily rides. During this particular ride, he thinks about Navi a lot. So Link decided to go look for her. Deep in the Lost Woods, Link rides. Suddenly a Skull Kid wearing a strange mask, along with two fairies, pops out of the bushes and pounces on Link. As Link lays unconscious, the Skull Kid searches him and finds the Ocarina. As he blows sour notes on it, Link wakes up and sees Skull Kid. Before he can catch him, the Skull Kid steals Epona! Epona drags Link, hanging on by the tail, through the forest. Link’s hand slips and he is left alone. He pursues the Skull Kid until he turns Link into a Deku Shrub. Link runs after the Kid into a doorway. As it slams behind him, Link knows he is trapped. After talking with the man down there, he climbs the stairs and enters Clock Town.
