The Legend of the Hero

It was a cold brisk night. Sasuke's raven hair fluttered in the wind as he tightened his coat. His sister, Toshiko, walked calmly beside him. Silence remained between the two as they walked home, Sasuke, in his tall, strong body with his dark hair shuddering in the cold, and Toshiko's short but he-woman strength body and her light brown hair whipping agsinst her face. Both orphans, they figured out they were siblings long before they found out their parents were dead. They finally reached home after a grueling hour of cold. Sasuke shook the ice off his coat as his sister started a blazing fire.
"You don't think anyone is out there, do you Sasuke?" Toshiko managed to say, icy fear tightening in her throat, worried that the parent-killing fiasco might be genetic or something (author's note: ha ha). Sasuke shook his head, silent as always for these long years. Toshiko finished the fire, making sure it wouldn't burn the house down, finished tomorrow's breakfast, put it in the warmer and climbed into bed while just a minute ago, Sasuke, exhausted, got under the blanket that had been warmed on the tile stove and fell asleep almost instantly.
NEXT DAY
The day had been hectic as soon as they woke up. The breakfast had been burnt, but not much, Toshiko lost her kunais, and Sasuke had a cramp in his neck and couldn't move much. In a rush they practically burst the door down. They arrived in their training school just in time to hear the rules of the exams coming. Bored with all the explanations because she was smartest, Toshiko pulled out the 1,897 page book, Ninja Sins: Suicide Team, and began to read. She quickly slipped it in her table slot as the sensei passed out the exams.
"Sasuke! Do you wanna (gulp) study together?" Oh great, Toshiko rolled her eyes. It was the class snob, Muira, wanting to study with SASUKE, the class heartthrob. As usual, he objected, and the rest of the day went smoothly. Finally, it was lunch time. Every student got to go home for 2 hours to eat. Usually, they just ate on the way home and back, 2 hours. But, on the way back, Sasuke, with the great hearing, heard some kind of groan. He notified Toshiko, who listened. Just then, the unthinkable happened. A boy with straw-colored hair, long down to the middle of his neck and parted in the front staggered out, white shirt ripped up and blood spattered, ragged khakis and short legs scratched and cut. All Sasuke and Toshiko could do is watch the boy in horror as to what might happen if they take even a step.
    "T-Toshiko....maybe w-we should...." Sasuke stuttered.
"I'll take care of it, Sasuke." Toshiko calmly said, taking great speed to get to they boy. As a part time nurse at the infirmary, she knew what to do. (authors note: I AM NOT A NURSE, but I read med books) She lifted the boy's head off the ground and asked, "What happened? Can you hear me?" The small, weak reply came out as:
"It was....Itachi....He...was..." The young boy said. In the next few minutes, they figured out that his name was Link and he was beaten up by a gang called Itachi. Toshiko took him home while she sent Sasuke to the school to tell what happened. After being bandaged and given some water, Toshiko asked Link what happened.
"Well, all I can remember is that I was walking and then I saw their faces and I fell and here I am now." A few minutes later, Sasuke returned and imediatley fell asleep. In a few months, the worst would happen.(author's note:The time in which Link and the siblings are together is quite long, so I will skip to only the important events)
FEW MONTHS
"TOSHIKO!!!" yelled Link so loudly Toshiko rolled off of her cot. They had been in the woods for a few days, but not in a bad way. Outside, something rustled. Toshiko shot up as if freezing water was about to be dumped on her. She went outside after telling Link to stay, and a swwwssshh, a cut, and running feet were heard, then......silence. About 3 hours later, Link got Sasuke to see what was outside. What they saw was shocking. Toshiko was lying on the ground with dried up blood stains running down her chin, her face flushed with a fever, and her body wracked with chills. Toshiko, the small, short, skinny but with he-woman strength, lying on the ground, not even able to move. Link looked up at Sasuke, who was kneeling and tears waiting to be dropped in his aquamarine eyes staring. Link didn't know what to do. Until a voice, deep and harsh said," Are you ready?" Link dashed to the tent and grabbed the only weapon he spotted: a bokuto/ wooden sword. He jumped up out of the tent and, with 1 leg straight and he hacked and slashed until the thief was dead.

TO BE CONTINUED

Author Notes: Yes,yes,YES! I finally did it! after 4 and 1/2 days of work, it's OVER!! Yes, go ahead and cry, scream, yell at your teddy, break furniture because this is the end, but there will be a second part of this in a few weeks/days/months! The reason? Ever heard of school and stupid bus drivers?
