Latest Details

9/30/06 - German magazine N-zone has provided us with some very interesting new details on Twilight Princess. According to the game's director, Eiji Aonuma, the game is over 70 hours in duration, including all sidequests, and the 9 temples that will be in the game. Twilight Princess comes chronologically in the Zelda timeline after Ocarina of Time. The horse in the game will be faster than Epona, which will definitely prove advantageous in this game (see bottom picture). And the actual Twilight Princess might be someone different than Zelda, as hinted by Aonuma.

Other details revealed/confirmed include:

bulletThere will be unique controls on the Wii version of the game
bulletLink is a righty in the Wii version, and a lefty in the GameCube version
bulletThe sword of the darknut is comparable with Phantom Ganon's sword in Wind Waker
bulletWolf Link can gain abilities as he progresses thru the game
bulletThere will be no Wii-connect24 or online support
bulletThe GameCube version was nearly complete, when they decided to put in Wii controls
bulletWhen Link becomes a wolf, his scent becomes better, allowing him to find hidden things that normal Link would not be able to find

1/24/06 - "No discussion of Twilight Princess' enemies can end without mentioning Ganon. I know that everyone's wondering what's going on with Link's old nemesis. All I can say now is, we're preparing more than you could possibly ever, ever, expect."

 - Yoshiyuki Oyama in an interview by Nintendo Power

bulletOyama also goes on to say that enemies and bosses in Twilight Princess will be much more challenging.

Director and Producer: Eiji Aonuma
